Signs your switchboard is due

- Ceramic or rewireable fusesOld fuse wire instead of circuit breakers is a clear sign the board predates current safety standards.
- No safety switches (RCDs)Safety switches cut power in a fraction of a second to prevent electric shock. Many older boards don't have them.
- Breakers that keep trippingNuisance trips often mean the board is overloaded or a circuit is faulty. We find out which.
- Adding big loadsNew air conditioning, an EV charger, a kitchen or a granny flat can push an old board past what it was built for.
- Buzzing, heat or scorch marksAny burning smell, warmth or discolouration around the board needs looking at straight away.
